Alongside our passion for mentoring emerging comedians, teaching stand-up and directing and staging performances, Funny Side Collective was created to promote comedy as socially engaged practice.
We run workshops in diverse settings, sometimes with marginalised groups, sometimes with people who have experienced specific challenges, and sometimes with those who simply have fascinating stories to tell – i.e. everyone!
On community projects, Sam Beale works closely with partner organisations, expertly guiding participants to discover their unique comic voices, as they reimagine their stories and shift perspectives on their experiences. Changing the narrative, one joke at time...
